My Amiga 1200 classic board Photos ;)

February 17th, 2007 by Quatrux

I thought to post some of my made photos of my Amiga 1200, the best Amiga ever created in my opinion and that was in the year 1992, which was capable of displaying 16,7 million of colours, because of the AGA chipset. It still works in the year 2007 and is expanded to be more powerful, but I never made a superb Amiga out from it, I left it to be a real classic Amiga board, with the AGA chipset, Motorola 68030 + FPU running over 50 MHz and 32 MB of SIMM RAM.. Always was using the 50Hz PAL mode monitor, due to on it Amiga games are playable and you really feel much better playing games on such a monitor, even though near it I had a VGA monitor for my AmigaOS3.9, Workbench.. a really well made OS, but Today, in the Year 2007 all I can say that I am not such an Amigan as I used to be, Amiga doesn’t fully suit me and to upgrade it, costs a lot of money, which I as a student don’t have.. and when ANN.lu closed, I thought that Amiga is really dead, even though I have an Efika board and still am waiting for MorphOS to work on Efika.. I never used a PPC board on my A1200, never used a Voodoo graphics card and never used any sound card, I enjoyed myself with the Paula Audio chipset, even though to listen to mp3 wasn’t possible – well it was, but low quality, I was converting everything to ADP4 and AIFF.. As you can see I had a 4,2 GB Hard drive and a lot of CDs.. Also, my Amiga was connected to the Internet through a x86 PC Linux machine with Privoxy and Firewall since the year 1998-2000 and I was able to fully use it chatting on IRC, Jabber, using the best Email client ever YAM, browsing the World wide web with IBrowse and Aweb, connecting to FTP with ATC (Ami Trade Center) and everything else.. I started to do programming with C on Amiga, I started to learn PHP+MySQL and HTML on my Amiga, it was my first computer to be used so much… After it I moved to Linux and after Linux for my studies I also use Windows, even though I can do everything in Linux.. Anyway, enjoy my Amiga photos. ;)
